I am a seasoned highly creative and passionate Design Professional and Design Educator with more than 25 years experience delivering successful marketing initiatives for clients that have increased sales, established brands and penetrated market share. After working in the Corporate world, for nearly twenty years, I founded my own design firm and was blessed with amazing clients for fifteen years before going back to college to earn my M.F.A. in Computer Graphics Design to give back to the next generation of budding designers.
I am a strategist—an idea person, problem solver, with an indomitable “can-do” spirit—executing and delivering high quality work possessing a rare blend of marketing know-how and the talent to make it happen. Whether developing a new course to keep pace with constant technology challenges, designing independent project or developing tutorials, I pride myself on giving 100% of my talents to serve students and clients alike.
Graduating with an M.F.A. in Computer Graphics Design from Rochester Institute of Technology, I was honored with an Outstanding Adult Student Award, and was invited into the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.
Right after graduating, I was hired to teach Time-Motion Communications at Roberts Wesleyan College—a liberal arts college—as an adjunct and within a semester was offered a full-time associate professorship as the graphic design professor. I inherited the B.A. Graphic Design program, developed the curricula, managed the Davison Gallery for two years and taught all graphic design classes for 7-years before moving into a teaching opportunity in the 2020-21 academic year for the newly established graphic design program at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas and am currently serving as an Associate Professor of Graphic Design. I have been instrumental in coordinating and re-writing the Graphic Design Program that was successfully passed by the curriculum committee in 2025.
My teaching philosophy is practical and incorporates real-world projects that follow the creative problem solving process.
Studio Philosophy
I conduct all my courses as a professional design studio grounded in contemporary visual communication practice. Students engage in authentic design problems that reflect real-world creative and production environments. Emphasis is placed on developing both conceptual thinking and technical execution through iterative design development.
Learning Model
Instruction is primarily delivered through individualized, one-on-one studio mentoring. Because students develop unique solutions at different rates, learning is process-driven and highly personalized rather than lecture-centered.
In addition to teaching, I continue to work on independent projects as time allows and must constantly keep up with rapid changing technology.
